More Membership Options
In 2022, I joined RACI through the SA ECCG. This step expanded my network and led to my role on the National Young Chemists Committee. RACI's support has been crucial for my growth as a chemist. Membership offers invaluable networking, development resources, and collaborative opportunities. I highly recommend it to early career chemists and those aiming to establish themselves in the field.
This category of membership caters to individuals who have completed their studies and commenced their career journey. To benefit from this membership category you need to be in the first three years of your career journey. We understand that commencing your career can be a stressful time and in recognition of this we've created a tiered approach to membership and associated fees. When you apply for membership, the date of completion of your final degree will determine the tier of membership you will fit into. Our membership team will review your application to ensure that you are in the appropriate tier. In your fourth year of membership you can upgrade to a professional member. Please note that the first three years of your career is used only for the purposes of enabling the RACI to provide you with a tiered membership and is not a definition for an Early Career Chemist.
Please note: Early Career/Commencing Chemists Membership of the RACI only applies if the last qualification you completed was obtained no more than three years ago. Anything beyond three years, please apply for a Professional Membership.
Please note the tiered approach will come into effect from 1 July 2024.

Please be aware that it may take up to 24 hours for your membership to become active in our system. During this period, access to the MyRACI space and RACI member rates may be restricted. If your account is not active after 24 hours, please contact us.
All RACI membership applications will be assessed by our Membership Unit, please ensure all relevant documents are uploaded (formal confirmation of enrolment issued by your institute of study).
