NSW Branch

We are a group of chemists across industry, academia and government sectors with special interest in topical subjects around analytical and environmental chemistry.  Our Group regularly organises seminars/webinars and symposia (e.g. Honours and Masters Student Presentation Evening, biannual symposium, specific topic presentations), not only to promote analytical and environmental chemistry, but also interactions and social networking among members.

The BDDG was established in 2016 to promote better interactions between the academic, government and industrial arms of biotech research in Sydney and the state of New South Wales, and is a forum for researchers to address/discuss the current paradigm for collaborations in drug discovery and development.

The group aims to provide regular networking events for scientists and professionals from academia, industry, research institutes, government organisations, etc., involved in all stages of discovery and development of bioactive molecules. We aim to run 2-3 events each year, open to all in the community (RACI membership provides a small discount). Our events are typically evening functions running between 6 – 10 pm with an informal presentation/speech from one to three speakers (20 - 30 mins) with a large portion of the evening dedicated to Q&A and networking. Depending on the time of year, events are run either independently or as add-ons to a local conference.

The focus of this group is to provide a link between schools, universities and working chemists and to provide professional learning and access to resources for teachers in these sectors. This group aims to meet the needs of students from across NSW and to provide opportunities for them to link what they learn to the work conducted by practising chemists.

The RACI Natural Products Group consists of members of the RACI who have a broad interest in natural products chemistry. Our members come from academia, government laboratories and industry. The Group is entered in NSW though links are maintained with natural products chemists from all around Australia.

The NSW Pharmaceutical Science Group was established in 1959 to “promote the dissemination and exchange of scientific and technical knowledge, particularly related to the Pharmaceutical Sciences”.

The Group has pursued this objective by the regular organisation of seminars with a panel of expert presenters. The presentations address specific topics or themes as variously applying to production, quality assurance, laboratory, regulatory and R&D of therapeutic goods.

Presentations

The mission of the NSW Polymer Group is to connect researchers and students across New South Wales through annul events, workshops and seminars. Our aim is to highlight the quality and interdisciplinary of NSW polymer research. We are diverse group of polymer enthusiast and always keen to welcome new faces to the group. Please reach out to us if you are interested in participating or if you would like to know more about our activities across the state.

The Western Sydney Section within the NSW Branch draws its members from the Western suburbs.  Our members come from academia, government laboratories, and industry sectors. Our main objectives are to reach out to members by promoting chemistry covering all subdisciplines through interactions  among members.  In this respect, the Section often organises seminars, webinars, laboratory tours, social functions, etc. in Western Sydney including Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, and Parramatta.

Women in Chemistry - NSW is a network of peers that links both current students and established academic and industry professionals in a productive and collaborative relationship. We intend to promote and instigate meetings and discussions between those involved in chemical science with the purpose of empowering and developing ways in which women can progress within industry, and with the hope of developing strong female leaders within the industry.
